Michael D. Taylor

Michael D. Taylor is Director, Europe and Multilateral Programs at the Global Intellectual Property Center of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Most recently he served as Director of Government Affairs for the U.S. India Political Action Committee and the U.S. India Business Alliance. Mr. Taylor also worked previously for the U.S. India Business Alliance as an Executive Vice President.

He founded MDT World Consulting in 2002. MDT World Consulting is a government and public affairs company with experience in dealing with all levels of the U.S. government and a number of foreign governments as well. The company focuses on serving non-profit, foreign, and American small- and medium-sized business clients.

Mr. Taylor is a part-time lecturer in political science at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in American politics, comparative politics, international relations, political economy, and research methods for more than fourteen years.

Mr. Taylor has over ten years experience in nonprofit management, including six years in the Washington office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation – an international German nonprofit foundation based in Munich and promoting democracy and development around the world. He has over twelve years experience in government relations, public affairs and policy including time as a congressional staffer, consultant, and “think-tank” analyst. Mr. Taylor also has ten years experience in the retail sector, five of which spent in management.

He received his B.A. in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, and his M.A. in World Politics from the Catholic University of America. Mr. Taylor was born in Louisville, Kentucky and now resides in Martinsburg, WV.
